Microplastics, What Do they Know? Do They Know Things? Let's Find Out!

Watch The Episode
flase-color photoshop of brains in a dirty plastic bucket
A visual representation of how my mind feels after I spend too much time on reddit.
I set out to make this video because I thought it would be a short one.

I am a fool.

Is this a nearly 40 minute video that's largely a way of me complaining about how much I find Futurism to be an annoying publication? I dunno...who's askin'?

The citations in here are both those directly supporting claims made in the video and further reading I think you'd enjoy if you made it all this way. If I'm honest, I doubt this will be the last microplastic video I make if my career has any longevity.

The animated word art opening of this video is magnificent.

The detailed hand illustrations of gymnosperms from an old German encyclopedia

Brockhaus' Konversations-Lexikon (1892)
I don't know German so idk about how accurate the encyclopedia still is overall but the illustration is on Page 599.

There's a VERY impressive illustration of pollen in the Ps section book. Also, there's a lot of upsetting 1800s 'scientific' racism illustrations in there.

A good overview of the state of current scientific understanding about microplastics and health.

Spoiler: inconclusive.
